The primary purpose of psychological assessments is to evaluate an individual’s cognitive, emotional, and psychological functioning. This process typically involves using standardized tests and personal interviews to gather comprehensive information about a person's mental health, behavior, and thought processes.

Psychological assessments are crucial for understanding an individual's psychological well-being and identifying potential mental health issues. They help psychologists and other mental health professionals gain insights into a person's personality traits, emotional reactions, and cognitive abilities, which can inform treatment plans and interventions.

By focusing on the psychological aspects, such assessments can also play a role in identifying specific disorders, understanding the impact of certain life circumstances on an individual's mental health, and guiding therapeutic approaches.
